Model "UTL"

The Universal Trak-R Logger ("UTL") is a stand-alone process signal data logger which is computer programmable.

It has a wide range of applications, including environmental, industrial, and marine, to name a few.

The unit can accept inputs from sensors that can provide 0-5 volts, 0-10 volts, or 4 to 20 ma outputs. For those senors that do not meet these criteria, a suitable pre-amplifier can be connected for logging operation.

The application software, which also contains a real-time graphing tool, is included.

The UTL stores 16,384 data points in its non-volatile ram memory before it starts to overwrite the oldest sensor data. The stored data is easily interfaced to the Model UTL charting program to create time sensitive graphs using your PC's RS232 serial port. The data can also be retrieved by modem.

The sample recording interval of the UTL can be set anywhere from 10 seconds to 42.5 minutes per sample. This interval provides a complete storage cycle ranging from 45.5 hours to 483 days. The sampling rate can be set anywhere from 1 to 32 samples per second. In addition, the unit can be programmed to store either the average value of these samples, or it will store the value that deviates most from the most recent stored value.

The unit is powered by an external transformer and also contains an internal battery backup.

The UTL features both a low alarm and a high alarm setting, which closes a pair of contacts that can handle up to 125VAC at .5 amperes. These contacts can be used to drive a wide range of external alarm devices.

The unit has an 8 character LCD display. Individual sensor characteristics (units and values) can be downloaded and stored in the UTL. These characteristics can also be saved on your PC for later use.
